Holiday Snack and Beverage Stations That Wow!
If you’re anything like me, I always like to find ways to celebrate the holidays on a budget. I tend to want to do it all myself and not sit down during family or friend gatherings. If you ever get an invite over you will see that I’m frantically trying to make sure everyone is taken care of and enjoying either a nice beverage or tasty nibble.
Something that I’ve really grown fond of is setting up cute DIY stations that encourages guests to eat and drink what they want and when they want.
I typically spend a decent amount of time before the party starts setting these up to load them up and organize in a way that makes cleanup easy and ensures that I actually sit down and enjoy the view of people helping themselves and appreciating the work that I put into these little stations.
Don’t overthink these, start out with a theme like a “hot cocoa station” and set out an electric kettle some pictures of milk or eggnog, perhaps some brandy, whipped cream, and cute garnishes for people to pick what they like. I also love an easy crostini station with different breads, crackers, and smears!
Prepare Games and Activities
Being the hostess with the mostess often means that we feel the need to constantly entertain our guests. We also know that many of us get crippling social anxiety in group settings.
Something that I’ve loved as both a anxious guest and an over the top host that also wants to enjoy themselves is having games and planned activities out so that people can choose when they wish to participate and step away from constant chatter and focus on something that involves less socializing!
I know you and your guests will seriously thank you for this! These holiday-inspired recommendations are some of my favorites to keep your holidays engaging and fun!
Don't Forget To Delegate and Ask For Help!
We all have a tendency to immediately respond with a “no” when we hear “What can I do to help” or “What can I bring?”
This year try leaning into the idea that your friends and family might truly be eager to help and offer them suggestions in how to do so!
These can be simple offerings like Uncle Nathan bringing bags of ice, or making a playlist so you can avoid your picky aunt complaining about the music. Don’t do it all yourself, have your friend Linda be in charge of the dinner salad!
This can only make the event sweeter as it’ll be an evening that everyone has created together and will leave you able to enjoy the night you’ve worked so hard to put together!
All in all, as you can see, keeping your Holiday’s simple but elevated can be both joyful and beautiful!
As we navigate through the hustle of festivities let’s prioritize our well-being and find ways to stay calm amidst the chaos.
By keeping things simple, we can create a more relaxing and enjoyable holiday experience.
Instead of striving for perfection, let’s remember that it’s about creating memories and finding joy in simple pleasures!
