When To Send Save The Dates For Your Oregon Coast Wedding
You have locked in your date and venue and now you need to Send Save The Dates.
With so many options out there it can be hard to choose the right theme and style. There is something for everyone and most importantly getting them made and sent in a timely matter is the ultimate goal.
When do you send Save The Dates if you are having a destination wedding on The Oregon Coast?
Is the timing different for non destination weddings?
These questions and more are answered below with some key information for each.
Firstly, keep it simple and short for Save the Dates. Don’t put too much information on those, above all it is to inform them of your date and location.
This gives your guests time to plan, prepare and not make other vacation plans for this very special weekend.
What the Save The Date Needs:
- Your maiden name
- The Date (of course:)
- If it is a destination wedding then you will need the weekend date set.
- Location (You don’t have to have the venue locked in just yet but if it is a destination wedding this is a MUST especially if you are looking for an Astoria Oregon Wedding Venue or any Seaside Oregon Wedding Venues.
- Wedding website (This keeps all the information in one spot and easy to find for guests to refer to as the date gets closer)
- A note that a Formal invite will follow
What the Save The Date Doesn’t Need:
- Your Venue (This will go on the invite)
- Hotel and flight information (This should be on your wedding website)
- Exact times for ceremony and reception
- Wedding Attire
How Far In Advance Do You Send Save The Dates:
- If a destination wedding on the Oregon Coast or anywhere for that matter you would want to send these out 8 to 12 months in advance if you can. Most importantly when your guests need to book flights and hotel accommodations then they need ample time to plan and prepare.
- If this is closer to your hometown and airline travel isn’t needed then you can send these out 4 to 6 months in advance ideally. If guests are driving then the time to plan isn’t as great as flying to another state or out of the country for that matter.
What the Wedding Invitation Needs:
- Time
- Date
- Ceremony Location
- Reception Location (If different from ceremony)
How Far In Advance Do You Send Wedding Invitations:
- In conclusion if you are doing a destination wedding like some place on the Oregon Coast near Cannon Beach, Manzanita or Arch Cape then you would want to send the invitations out up to 3 months before.
